Class B
No. 1 De Smet 64, No. 16 Timber Lake 38
De Smet will have the No. 1 seed at the Class B boys basketball tournament after a strong victory over Timber Lake in Redfield.
The Bulldogs take a 22-1 record to Aberdeen. Timber Lake’s season ends at 12-10.
No. 2 Canistota 43, No. 15 Wessington Springs 34
Canistota qualified for the Class B state tournament for the third time in four years with a victory over Wessington Springs at the Corn Palace.
The Hawks held a 20-19 lead over Wessington Springs at halftime at the Corn Palace.

No. 3 White River 71, No. 14 Waubay/Summit 52
Colbe Scott scored 26 points to pace White River to a convincing win at the Corn Palace Tuesday.
Scott had 19 points in the first half to help White River break a 17-all tie at the end of the first quarter to build a 39-31 lead at halftime.
The Tigers — playing for the fifth time at the Corn Palace this season — improved to 17-5 and qualified for the Class B state tournament for the 16th straight year. Waubay/Summit finishes the season at 15-6.
No. 13 Lower Brule 80, No. 4 Potter County 72
With a massive second half effort, Lower Brule turned a halftime deficit into a trip to the Class B state tournament in Miller.
The game matched the two SoDak 16 qualifiers from Region 2B and Lower Brule had a 26-point third quarter to move in front of Potter County after three quarters, up 62-57.
The Sioux got 24 points from Keshaume Thigh, 23 points from Brian LaRoche Jr., and 20 points from Gavin Thigh in the victory.
The Battlers had led 38-36 at halftime over the Sioux. Grant Luikens scored a game-high 30 points for Potter County, while Kayden Ahlemeier scored 11 points. Potter County’s season ends at 19-4.
No. 5 Viborg-Hurley 65, No. 12 Corsica-Stickney 54
Despite a 2-for-21 shooting night on 3-pointers, Viborg-Hurley outmuscled Corsica-Stickney for a SoDak 16 victory on Tuesday in Freeman.
Leading by just three points after three quarters, Viborg-Hurley pulled away late in the game.
Eli Boomgarden scored 22 points and had 10 rebounds, while Gradee Sherman scored 21 points and had 10 rebounds. Hayden Gilbert and Grant Mikkelson each scored nine points for the Cougars (17-5). It marks the third straight season qualifying for the Class B tournament for Viborg-Hurley.
Corsica-Stickney (16-6) had 19 points from Brendan Wentland, and 10 points each from Trever Burke and Hayden Plamp.

No. 6. Lyman 49, No. 11 Faith 34
Lyman clinched its first boys state tournament appearance since 1996 with a victory over Faith on Tuesday in Philip.
Lyman (19-4) had a 14-point lead heading to the fourth quarter.
Faith finishes the season at 17-6.
No. 10 Aberdeen Christian 55, No. 7 Platte-Geddes 43
A 35-point effort in the second half carried Aberdeen Christian to a SoDak 16 victory, returning to the state tournament after qualifying in 2020.
Malek Wieker had 21 points, while Jackson Isakson scored 19 points and Brent Ekanger scored 10 to lead Aberdeen Christian (18-4). Platte-Geddes held a 23-20 halftime lead at the Huron Arena.
The Black Panthers (16-6) got 12 points from Caden Foxley and 10 points from Will Miller, but shot 28 percent in the second half and made 4 of 18 3-pointers in the loss.

No. 8 Dell Rapids St. Mary 58, No. 9 Elkton-Lake Benton 51
In a battle of Region 4B and Dakota Valley Conference foes, Dell Rapids St. Mary emerged victorious and clinched a trip to the Class B state tournament in Colman.
Connor Libis scored 22 points and had seven rebounds for the Cardinals (19-4), while teammate Sam Palmer added 14 points, as DRSM made 10 3-pointers in the victory.
For the Elks (18-5), Marcus Harming scored 17 points and Miles Harming had 11 points and eight rebounds but ELB was 4 of 22 on 3-point shots. Mason Gaumer had 10 rebounds in the loss.

Class A
No. 1 Vermillion 67, No. 16 Milbank 37
Playing in the earliest game of the night, the Tanagers locked up the first spot at the Class A state tournament and the No. 1 seed with a big second half at the Corn Palace.
Vermillion (22-0) will go to the state tournament for the first time since 1989 after a 21-3 third-quarter run put the game out of reach. Vermillion led 28-25 at halftime.
Jakob Dobney finished with 30 points, after having 20 in the first half. He was 11 of 17 shooting. Dillon Gestring scored 19 points for Vermillion.
The Bulldogs (12-11) got 14 points each from Will Cummins and Bennett Schwenn, but were held to 4 of 20 shooting from the 3-point line and 3 of 11 on free throws.
No. 2 Dakota Valley 65, No. 15 Sisseton 47
Paul Bruns scored 29 points and pulled down nine rebounds to carry Dakota Valley to the Class A state tournament in a win at Centerville.
Isaac Bruns scored 15 points and had five steals, while Randy Rosenquist scored 12 points for the Panthers, who held a 35-17 halftime lead and scored 22 points in the first quarter to open the game strong.
For Sisseton (13-10), Dylan Goodhart scored 15 points, while Xavier Donnell scored 12 points.
Dakota Valley (21-2) will carry the No. 2 seed into the Class A state tournament.
No. 3 Sioux Valley 79, No. 14 Wagner 49
Long-range shooting carried Sioux Valley to the Class A state tournament Tuesday night in Salem.
The Cossacks made 17 of 27 3-point tries in the game, including nine in the first half to break open the game with the Red Raiders.
Kelton Vincent scored 34 points — including 19 points in the first half — to put Sioux Valley (21-1) in control from the second quarter on. He was 12 of 17 shooting and made nine 3-pointers. The Cossacks led at halftime, 43-24. Parker Puetz added 13 points and Hayden Ruesink had 12 points.
Wagner (11-1) led 12-7 midway through the first quarter but Sioux Valley scored the first 18 points of the second quarter to pull away. Toby Zephier scored 13 points, while Alex Cournoyer scored 10 for Wagner.
No. 4 Sioux Falls Christian 85, No. 13 Custer 52
Sioux Falls Christian cruised to another state tournament appearance with a big win over Custer at Plankinton.
SFC led 43-25 at halftime. The Chargers advance to the Class A state tournament at 17-5. Custer’s season ends at 13-9.
No. 5 St. Thomas More 45, No. 12 Madison 43
St. Thomas More’s Ryan Wojcik had the game-winning layup off a lob with 6 seconds left to lift the Cavaliers back to the state tournament in an exciting contest in Kadoka.
Madison held a 24-22 lead at halftime in the game. St. Thomas More led 11-8 after the opening eight minutes.
St. Thomas More (19-3) advances to the Class A tournament. Madison’s season ends at 13-9.

No. 6 Chamberlain 56, No. 11 Flandreau 48
Chamberlain earned a return trip to the Class A state tournament with a hard-fought finish at the Huron Arena.
The Cubs (17-4) led 46-39 after three quarters. The Cubs held a 35-22 halftime lead but the Fliers (16-7) battled to stay close in the game late, pulling to within four points in the game.

No. 7 Winner 53, No. 10 Mobridge-Pollock 50
In the game between Big Dakota Conference foes in Murdo, Brady Fritz hit a key 3-pointer late to carry the Winner Warriors back to the Class A state tournament.
Fritz’s 3-pointer with 1:50 remaining put Winner up 51-50. The score would stay there until the final moments, when Mobridge-Pollock missed the front end of a one-and-one and Blake Volmer pulled down the rebound and was fouled. He hit a pair of free throws to make it 53-50, and that led withstood a last-second heave from Mobridge-Pollock.
Fritz finished with 23 points for Winner (20-2), while Volmer had 13 points and 11 rebounds. Jackson Vesely added six points and eight rebounds.
Mobridge-Pollock and Winner were tied at 28 at halftime. That came after the Tigers (15-6) came out of the gate strong, with a 16-6 lead after the first quarter.
No. 8 Dell Rapids 68, No. 9 Rapid City Christian 54
In a low-scoring game at the Parkston Armory, Dell Rapids muscled out a victory to advance to the Class A state tournament.
Following a low-scoring first quarter, the Quarriers (16-6) held a 23-14 halftime lead. Rapid City Christian finishes its season at 16-6.
