IOWA CITY, Iowa – Iowa Basketball found out Sunday that it would be a No. 2 in next week’s NCAA Tournament. The Hawkeyes matched their highest-ever seeding in the event, equaling the 1987 team.
Iowa will play 15th-seeded Grand Canyon in the first-round game on Saturday. The winner takes on the survivor of No. 7 Oregon-No. 10 VCU matchup on Monday.
Hawkeye coach Fran McCaffery and his players met with the media Sunday to discuss their draw.
